As soon as we receive your booking request, Mykonos Rental Cars will accept it or not depending on the availability. This is the reason why making your reservation some time in advance is important, especially during the peak season of July and August.
In order a reservation to be confirmed a small deposit might be required. In that case reservations department will inform you via email immediately so your reservation can be confirmed. A small deposit is usually required in order to proceed with the confirmation, when clients pick up location is Mykonos Port, or Mykonos Airport. When a deposit is not required, you receive a notification email.
In case the booking is confirmed, the down-payment (small deposit) will be deducted from your car rental reservation total amount. (If for example your total reservation cost is 100 euro, and you pay 30 euro as a deposit before your arrival, when you collect the car you have to pay for the remain amount of 70 euro). An automate from our booking system confirmation email for the reservation with details on the delivery of the car will be sent to you via e-mail, so make sure that the e-mail address you provide is correct.
In case Mykonos Rental Cars, cannot confirm your order / booking request / reservation request for any reason a cancellation e-mail will be sent to you with suggestions on changing your order; no payments will be captured from your account. It is essential that you provide a correct e-mail address and mobile phone number, as the voucher (or confirmation / information email ) contains important information on the delivery of the rental car at your destination ( pick up location).
Delivery instructions and telephone numbers will be written on your voucher (notification email). No refund is made due to unreceived or unread voucher (notification email ).
In case the booking is confirmed, the down-payment (deposit) will be deducted from your account by Mykonos Rental Cars respectively. The final confirmation/voucher for the reservation will be sent via e-mail, so make sure that the e-mail address you provide is correct and the amount for the down-payment (deposit ) is available in your account. The balance (remain reservation amount) has to be paid upon delivery of the car (when you collect the car) either by credit card / debit card / prepaid card in the name of the driver, (or by another person who is present for the transaction) or in cash. A major credit card is required for guarantee reasons, but if you do not have one, you can use a debit card instead, as part of our “no credit card required policy”. Our company can accept (if required by the client) payments in advance (pre-payments) via PayPal (PayPal Account or Credit Card/Debit Card Visa & MasterCard).
While making your reservation, it is essential that you provide some important information:
The details on the delivery of the rental car, as well as contact information of the company confirming your booking are included in your voucher.
In case you have any problems finding our representative, you have to call at the number/s at the bottom of the voucher (reservation notification email), or the telephone numbers on the website.
The location Mykonos Port refers to Mykonos new Port (Tourlos). All ferries, and speed boats from all other islands and from the mainland arrive at Mykonos Tourlos new Port.
Will be as written on your voucher and the exact information regarding the drop off you will get when you pick up the car. In case you wish to change the drop off details, provided that these changes are made acceptable by Mykonos Rental Cars, there may be an extra charge, for which (if any) you will be informed immediately when you request the change.
The driver’s minimum age is 23 years old, depends of the car type, and the maximum is normally 70 years old. The age limits appear on the page with the available cars. For drivers less than 23 years old, or older than 70 years old, it is possible to rent specific car types. As that depends 100% on the insurance company, each request is replied individually, according to the insurance reply. There is an extra daily cost which again depends on the insurance company. Drivers less than 23 or older than 70 years old will receive an email with all options and details after their booking online.
Drivers are required to produce a full driving license held for at least one year. Additionally, a valid passport or ID card has to be presented at the pick-up of the vehicle. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving license. No refund is given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a valid driving license. Facsimiles/photocopies/digital copies/of licenses are NOT acceptable.
The Driver is required to have and display a valid Drivers' License issued at least a year ago, the ID card/valid Passport. Requirements: a) National Driving License: European Union E.U Citizens, b) National Driving License within Latin Characters: Outside E.U Citizens, c) National Driving License accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP): CHINA, NORTH KOREA and JAPAN.
All driving licenses types from all European countries are accepted in Greece.
Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis, starting at the time of car rental pick up. Changes made in the time of return after the rental start should be handled by our car rental company. In case of a flight /ferry arrival delay, change etc., your rental period starts counting from the pick-up time on the reservation, unless there is a previous agreement/accepted booking modification, with Mykonos Rental Cars (which can also be made via email, or telephone).
Mykonos Rental Cars reserves the right of providing a similar vehicle in case the vehicle category booked is not available.
In order to make a modification, (if you arrive at another day, or need the car in a different location) you have to cancel your initial booking in order to make a new one. Alternatively, you can contact us via email, and we can modify your booking and send a new confirmation. Mykonos Rental Cars keeps the right of not accepting the modification depending on availability (if there are not any cars available for new date/location).
Cancellations can be made via email or phone. For cancellations made at least 72 hours (3 full days) PRIOR to the rental period start, the whole amount of your down payment is returned and there will be no additional costs. For cancellations made 72 hours (3 full days) or LESS prior to the rental period start, the down payment is NOT refunded. Cancellations/Modifications after the starting of the rental period are handled Mykonos Rental Cars at your destination. No refund is made for no-shows at the destination, failure to produce the appropriate documentation, early returns or cancellations after the rental start date. Normally no refund is made for any unused days. However, it depends on Mykonos Rental Cars to make any refund in case of unused days.
The car rental voucher / confirmation email / is suggested to be presented at the pick-up point, for your better service. Please keep the rental documents and all related receipts for a minimum of 28 days after returning the car. The rental agreement is written in Greek and in English. Attention! The copy of the rental agreement / document that you receive when you pick up the car, will contain your personal data. Make sure that you keep it safe. When you do not need it any more put it in a safe file or destroy it.
Fuel is NOT included in the rates. Same (delivery) to same (collection) fuel level, is the fuel policy.
Please check the car specifications as Mykonos Rental Cars cannot accept responsibility in case the vehicle booked is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival.
Mykonos Rental Cars company reserves the right to refuse to provide a car to any customer who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. The company also reserves the right of providing a vehicle of similar category in case the vehicle category booked is not available. In case you are not satisfied in any way with the standard of your booked car, you SHOULD contact Mykonos Rental Cars i
mmediately. Such situations are to be handled with Mykonos Rental Cars locally. Failure to do so may result in claims being rejected or unsettled. Aiming at the improvement of our services, we would appreciate any feedback on your experience.
Mykonos Rental Cars assumes no liability for actual rentals that do not take place due to reasons for which the client is responsible.
Such reasons are for example:
The terms and conditions as well as the rental agreement signed on pick-up are governed by local laws and are legally binding on the hirer. All reservations are made by Mykonos Rental Cars and all coupons and vouchers are issued by Mykonos Rental Cars.
Mykonos Rental Cars is not liable for any indirect losses that happen as a side-effect of the main loss or damage, which could not have been foreseen by the client and Mykonos Rental Cars (such as loss of profits or loss of opportunity).
The rates include the Third party insurance, covering third person against property damages and body injuries. All rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers. For your safety, this number should not be exceeded and in case this number is exceeded the insurance will be invalidated. Please make sure the car you book is big enough for your needs.
For Collision Damage Waiver insurance (CDW) with excess amount per car group and for Super Collision Damage Waiver insurance (S. CDW) with less excess amount you can inform and select at the time of online booking.
Mykonos Rental Cars shall not compensate you for any of the following damages, which have to be paid by the client:
Moreover, Mykonos Rental Cars shall not compensate the client for any damage caused by negligence. Such damages also have to be paid by the client himself. Additionally, in any circumstances, Insurance does not cover damages from bad weather conditions such as storms, floods, tornadoes, fallow trees, etc. Mykonos Rental Cars shall not pay for any telephones, hotels or taxis used after an accident.
In case of an accident involving your rental car you should contact the nearest police station immediately to fill an accident report and inform the car rental company. The vehicle should not be removed from the place of the accident. If you do not report the accident to the police in compliance to the Greek law, the insurance may become invalid !! The report should state if there was any influence of alcohol or drugs. You should also report any accident or damage to the car rental company.
Mykonos Rental Cars reserves the right to refuse a car replacement after an accident, if the company has indications that the car was driven not according to traffic regulations, (for example drink and drive) or if the driver has used the car in ways that do not comply with the rental agreement. In that case there will not be a refund for the remaining rental period.
Mykonos Rental Cars reserves the right to remove vehicles from drivers that do not use the rental cars according to the traffic regulations (for example drink and drive). In that case there will not be a refund for the remaining rental period.
All prices and charges listed on the reservation form are subject to VAT and some stations charge and city tax of 0.5% on the price of renting. All taxes are already included in the prices you see in the website
